MAWDDWY is an unspoilt, quiet valley in the superb scenery of the southern Snowdonia National Park, Wales |
Nant-y-Nodyn's four self catering cottages - a quarter of a mile apart - are situated in this valley, about two miles from the wool village of Dinas Mawddwy and near the highest pass in Wales which leads to Vyrnwy and Bala lakes. |
The market towns of Dolgellau and Machynlleth are about 20 minutes by car, while the coast, a little further, offers a wide choice of lovely beaches. |
The cottages are part of a sheep and beef organic farm which has been positively managed with conservation in mind, and guests are welcome to explore and enjoy the wildlife. |
The valley offers rural peace and tranquility and is an ideal base for walkers of all capabilities, with the challenging peaks of Aran Fawddwy and Cader Idris nearby. |
Nearby in the village is the Meirion Woollen Mill, cafe, restaurant and pubs. A little further afield are the Centre for Alternative Technology, narrow-gauge railways, RSPB reserves, leisure centres and pony trekking. |
