Yr Efail

Lovely stay! Really high standards, everything you need is all here. Beautiful views, the best cottage we have been in. Thank you for the welcome. Can't wait to come back. Jan 2011

Fantastic cottage, beautiful situation. Peaceful week - pure heaven! Feb 2011

Great facilities, wonderful location. It's great being remote, but having internet. Thank you for a lovely week in a beautifully kept cottage. March 2011

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, provides every item required. Congratulations Megan, we have been to Wales 30 times in 15 years - this cottage is the best. April 2011

Had a great holiday, perfect cottage, fantastic weather and lots of lovely walks, can recommend the Precipice walk just outside Dolgellau on the Llanfachreth road, Stunning views. May 2011

Better than we ever expected! Yr Efail is a wonderful conversion/renovation and the location did not fail in delivering the best self-catering holiday we have had. Thank you so much! June 2011

Wonderful cottage. We liked the natural materials, patio around the house, soft drinking water and loved the surrounding. Everything was well organised and prepared in the cottage. Thank you for the flowers and for bringing the adaptor! Warm regards. July 2011

I have travelled all over the world but this valley is the most idyllic and tranquil spot that I have ever stayed in. The accommodation is superb. Megan and Elwyn were very welcoming and helpful regarding things to do. We'll be back. Aug 2011

Perfect romantic retreat for our honeymoon. Beautiful countryside and lovely, cosy cottage. Wonderful week despite nearly being blown back to England! Sept 2011

Two world's collide! Splendid isolation meets high-tech. After a hard day's hiking, ascending Cader Idris, the west side of Snowdonia in gale force winds, coming back to this cottage - what a joy! Exhausted, weather beaten, to be greeted by the aroma of the casserole we put in the slow cooker after breakfast. A hot shower, a glass of Merlot, checking e-mails from the outside world, looking up the next day's hike on our i Pad, then settling down with a glass of single malt whiskey in front of the log burning stove. A magnificent holiday in a truly wonderful part of the world. The cottage is amazing and so comfortable. Thank you so much! Will keep in touch. Dec 2011

Ty'n y ffordd

Had a wonderful time-really enjoyed the scenery, especially from this delightful cottage. Even with the rainy weather, we had a really enjoyable stay. Hope to be back soon! Feb 2011

Amy Duff wrote for Director's magazine 'After a long drive from London it's luxurious comfort you crave and Ty'n y ffordd doesn't disappoint. It's rough walls and exposed beams are complemented by modern touches. All the bedrooms are immaculately kitted out with crisp white sheets and Welsh blankets. Sitting on the edge of the Aran mountains the area is a walker's paradise. The eight mile walk with 2,635ft of ascent up Aran Fawddwy is strenuous but the views of the deep valleys from the top are spectacular and well worth the effort. Alternatively, you can just put the log-burner on and your feet up and listen to Aled Jones. That's the great thing about Ty'n y ffordd - there's something for everyone.' March 2011

Every time we visit we love it even more! We have watched Spring unfold and had the most glorious weather. Thanks to you all. April 2011

Our third visit to the cottage, very cosy and comfortable as always. Despite the rain and clouds, a relaxing week had by all. Great food and hospitality at the Cross Foxes and the Red Lion remains excellent. Cycling the Mawddach trail from Dolgellau to Barmouth is a must! Thank you Elwyn & Megan, we hope to return later in the year! May 2011

We completely endorse the supelatives your other visitors have written. How lucky we have been to stay here for a very special family holiday. Is there anywhere more enchanting in the world? Thank you so much for all your hard work making this a home from home. We want to stay for ever. Got any jobs on the farm? So glad to hear the welsh spoken - beautiful! Locals so friendly, loved the pubs and real ales. Enjoyed visits to Castell y Bere, Dolgoch Falls, Centre for Alternative Technology. Loved Machynlleth galleries and shops. Harlech castle splendid. Best of all the little places here in this valley. Thank you, thank you.I even got brown, lovely weather. June 2011

The house was really lovely and we all had a fine week. We had all kinds of weather including some sunny days which were really great. The road to Lake Vyrnwy was fabulous! This place has brought a smile on our face and warned our hearts. Thanks. July 2011

We have come to the UK quite a few times over the last twenty years. This cottage is the best accommodation we have had. A pity we did not book the cottage for two weeks.Sept 2011

Another wonderful holiday. We have walked all our favourites walks in the most glorious scenery. Two mornings running we watched the sun come over the hills and the bats coming home to roost. See you next year! Oct 2011

Bliss! We really have had a great week. Lots of rest, relaxation abd activity! Lovely Sunday lunch at Mawddach restaurant, on way to Barmouth. Red Lion does hearty tasty portions! The drive to Lake Vyrnwy is spectacular and we hired bikes for a pretty cycle around the lake. Cader Idris - tough but we did it - never again! Look forward to another visit next year to further explore this special place. Nov 2011
